This August, I'll be participating in a very special event called the Breast Cancer 3-Day. I am going to be walking (or crawling) 60 miles over the course of three days, for a cause devoted to helping women discover breast cancer early enough to beat it and committed to finally finding a cure. As you know, walking that far is going to be no simple feat for me. I'm going to have to train and get in shape. But I'm excited that I can finally do something this big in the fight against breast cancer.
So, yes, this is a plea for your emotional and financial support. A dollar for every mile that I'll be walking would be wonderful but please donate whatever you can. I thank you in advance for whatever you can give. It's hard asking my friends for money, but this cause and this event is very important to me. The net proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust.
According to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, approximately 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will die from the disease. That's why I'm walking so far. To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me -- by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.

p.s. - I would really appreciate if you would pass along my information to your friends and family. Each participant in the walk must raise a minimum of $2000 in donations. While I'm still far away from that goal, I know it is possible with people like you in my corner.
